In the last couple of years I had always struggled to find the right balance between updating my blog / scrapbook frequently and doing what I seem to like most and this is editing. I love editing, I love drawing and I love to show my horses in the most perfect way that is possible for me to achieve. But that always kept me from being more active. I can't seem to get any faster in editing because the more I learn the more detailed I want my pictures to be, the more 'real' I want my horses to look like and the more I draw, photo manipulate et cetera (you get the idea). But on the same side I don't want to just show you guys pictures of my horses at competitions (especially with T-Shows not being around anymore and sitting down for 2 or more weeks for just one single image to display in a C-Show is exhausting and not really satisfing, even though I like most of my edited pictures) but to have you kind of involved in what is happening at Tannicht. For 4 years now I have all these stories in my head, all the pictures I wanted to show you about my horse's character and life as well as my staff members and never came around to actually do so because I felt so exhausted after editing one or two images that I didn't want to sit down and tell anything about what is going on (after weeks of just editing one single image you can get pretty sick of it). For 2018 I finally want this to change. I want to update my blog more frequently and be more active. I want to tell stories about the life at Tannicht and to give you an insight view of what is happening with my sims and horses. Therefore I won't edit my pictures most of the time so if this is what you want to see, most of the time you won't be satisfied with this blog. I want to write stories that go along with my pictures but as English isn't my native language, please be aware that they won't be great and there will be a lot of grammatical errors. Please keep this in mind. I don't want to go all poetic, I just want you guys to get to know my sims and horses better.
Another thing I thought about for a while now is the fact that I keep my horses active for a ridicolous amount of time (yes, some of my horses are with me now for 4 irl years or even longer) even when they reached the magic 200 points mark & even when they reached it in both disciplines. For 2018 I want to change this as well. I don't have troubles retiring my own bred horses when they achieved this or that goal but I always struggle with retiring horses I bought from other members. I don't want to feel guilty anymore (even though other members never gave me any reason to feel this way) and force myself to keep them active for years on end. Because to me it seems that I can't progress with my bloodlines & because of me wanting to rather have a small amount of horses I can focus on, I was in need to find a solution for me. So, I hope that noone is angry with me now but I will retire some of the horses that achieved 200 points (and to be fair, they are all with me now for 4-5 irl years) so that I can focus more on the younger horses. This doesn't mean you won't see them anymore, they will still be seen in some pictures but just not be the focus most of the time anymore.
