C Show Update 5/7

  • Hello everyone!

As you all know, the show system has been continuously changed and updated to better suit the needs of this community. We understand that randomized shows are lacking in excitement and the role play phase of combination shows does not award points for participation. While we realize that many of you would love to have traditional shows back, the logistics are not feasible. We have decided to start awarding leaderboard points for the Role Play phase to encourage participation and reward the time and effort that goes into these entries.

However, to prevent abuse of this system, we have had to clarify and tighten some of the guidelines for these entries. A full outline of the changes can be found below. This feature will also require additional staff. The authenticator position will now be responsible for accurately recording and reporting the entries from the Role Play phase into spreadsheets for tallying of points. If we are not able keep at least 2 authenticators on staff at all times, this feature will be put on hold to prevent additional tasks from being added to existing staff members. We will also need to have 2 authenticators hired before June for this change to be implemented. If you think you might enjoy reviewing Role Play entries for authenticity, please be sure to apply. :arrow_forward: Application

We hope that this change brings more excitement and creativity to Equus competition.

Combination Shows – RP Phase Changes

    • Participation in the Role Play phase of C shows will now award a small amount of horse points.
      • One entry will award 2 points.
      • One picture or one story over 300 words counts as one entry.
      • If both a picture and story (over 300 words) are submitted, 1 extra point is awarded for a possible total of 3 points per horse.
      • Each entry will still award 20 achievement points.
    • Horses need to be entered in the randomized phase to qualify.
      • Horses that have been disqualified may enter and collect points.
      • A total of 5 horses per member can be entered in the Role Play phase.
    • Authenticators will be charged with loading the points onto the leaderboards at the close of the show.
      • 2 authenticators are required. If we do not have at least 2 authenticators, these point awards will be put on hold until additional authenticators volunteer.
      • Authenticator salary has been increased.

Special thank you to those that submitted feedback on this situation via our :arrow_forward: Feedback Form.

  • Clarification: We will begin this feature in June, provided we have hired at least 2 authenticators by then. Please apply!
