Decs horse profiles part I - the stallions

It's a full house with these eight, since Decs actually has set number of stalls. So, someone needs to go before this bunch changes, but that is something that won't be happening for quite a while yet. I mean, Dazrin might be in his 20s, but he is not a senile old man by any means ;D

Decs horse profiles part II - the mares

Ladies don't make a full house quite yet, whopping one spot left, haha! And that will actually be filled quite soon come next year, but as sad to say it is, the oldest - current retirees - are expected to free up spots before summer. Life, eh? :/

    Some old favorites from Decs

I was hoping not to need post forever so many times in a row myself, but oh well... Let's go back the memory lane with Decs, shall we? :)

    alt text
$25,000 Moonlight Falls Grand Prix (1.60m)
This really goes with the old part being from Dec 2014, so from three years back already - man, time flies! The first entry in GP for everyone involved and it lead to tied 1st!

    alt text
The winners of Moonlight Falls Grand Prix
Tied to the last quite obviously and so from just as long time ago, but still warms the heart when looking at it. :two_hearts:

    alt text
    Amador portrait
This is actually oldest pic of the bunch being from summer 2014, in other words from 3½ years ago... So yeah, it might be old, but it still has it's charm - just like the Irishman himself

    alt text
$25,000 Lucky Palms Grand Prix (1.60m)
This one from early 2015 was my favorite for the show, but I think they decided to be modest and brought home 5th place, haha! :D

    alt text
    Notarius Decs portrait
This one is from summer 2015 and was sorta hit (because of the lead rope of course ;>) everywhere it was posted then and later too. Look how dappled one Nate used to be when he was young... those are pretty much all gone now

    alt text
    Scott & Nate portrait
This is from the same shoot as the one above, so from mere 2½ years ago as well. Was posted with accompanying note of Scott's plans to conquer the world with him. How's that going? Well, they haven't won a GP yet, but there's still time... ;)

    alt text
$25,000 Sunset Valley Grand Prix (1.60m)
This one from late 2015 was my favorite for the show, but I think just like with the earlier one they decided to be modest again and brought home 4th place, lol! Also this is sorta "fake oldie", since it has only been posted on Decs website before ;)

    alt text
The winners of Sunset Valley Grand Prix
This pair wasn't being modest on the show like some others (above) were, even if I thought they would've been the ones to do so, haha! The actual entry shot might not have been my favorite for the show, but ain't nothing but happy for such special win. It was last HJC traditional and got a GP win from it, so very fond memories come back every time seeing this. Oh, and the pic was made little late after, so we have arrived into 2016 with this one, lol!

    alt text
Scott & Noriann training at home
This is from summer 2016 when Noriann needed such pic for her page before a sale of her foal. And since she retired from sport long before that, it totally takes place at some time before she wasn't retired. :joy:

    alt text
    Notarius Decs winter portrait
This is from the present year, from almost a year ago still, but from 2017 anyway, haha! Almost wanted to make own post just for this, since it's so wintry an all, but being so old one it suits here I guess. We were talking about Nate's dapples earlier, this isn't the best pic to showcase (look profile instead ;>), but they're already almost gone in this. And these days he's even older, so he really should be totally dappless now... Well, dapples or not, he's still one of the dearest :two_hearts:

Now, someone make my day and post something before I post again... * crosses fingers *

    Some old favorites from DWH

And it's me updating again, gotta do it while feeling somewhat inspired to fight with the forum :x Anyways, let's go back the memory lane with DWH this time. ^^

    alt text
Portrait of APH mare River (2014)
Avatar made from this pic was her first appearance to the world. ;> The actual introduction took like week or two after that to be published, which made a few people to wonder who she was all that time... :D Old, old pic, but still so precious after all that time, just as River is herself :two_hearts:

    alt text
Hidden Path Farm Reining Spring Fling (2014)
When there's that something, there is. This shot with a couple others made the entry that didn't fair the best at the show, but this still made it to favorites with ease back then and charm is still there. ^^ The pair here is Mike & DWH Just Go For It, the latter - Finch - has left us for greener pastures sad to say. But we'll cherish the lovely memories. :hugging:

    alt text
Little Nell at the pasture with mommy (2014)
Nell was just the cutest thing when she was little, right? Originally she wasn't going to stay at DWH despite not having a filly out of our then top mare Windy. But honestly, could it really have gone any other way than her staying - who could send away such a sweet, little cutie pie? ❤

    alt text
    Portrait of little Nell (2014)
Well, it's the sweet, little cutie pie Nell again, so don't really have anything new to say about it... :two_hearts: :D

    alt text
ESWC Bayview End Of Year Special (2014)
While it does show this is old one, there's still that something in it today. Be it the chilly autumn atmosphere, the sand that brought up "make it awesome and then hide it" affair or the fact it stars River, I doubt this is going anywhere from favorites for a long time to come. :two_hearts:

    alt text
SHA Spring Spin 'N Slide National (2015)
Yeah, River is in these a lot, this ain't event the last one you'll see, haha! I still remember doing the spotlight effects on this while listening to Rockstar by Nickelback (which was listed as their song for the Freestyle) after all this time. :') The pair didn't fair that well on the show for reasons unknown, but they'll always be the rockstars to me. :two_hearts: :

    alt text
ESWC Iowa's Reining Maturity Show (2015)
This is again one of those that have that something. It doesn't look too special, but it just works so well. Result for Mike & Kira was alright 4th in the end. Could've been better, but could've been worse too, so alright is fine. ;D

    alt text
    ESWC Winter’s Western Showdown (2015)
First one of a "new era", I think you'll notice it too. ;> Love this one and not just 'cause it's River in it - it just... all fits, you know. :two_hearts: That said, this also is kinda too bittersweet at the same time; after the show was left with a feeling I did all the work for noting, which in the end lead to not doing western entries for quite a while despite them always being labors of love. But as they say love conquers all or something to that extent; when looking this as just another pic - there's nothing bitter about it, just gotta love it! :hugging:

    alt text alt text
"Hold it right there, U.S. Marshal" (2015)
Zack & River went Old West for a challenge. ^^ The b&w one is the "main entry" for the challenge and while I think I like it more, the color one ain't that bad either. And of course this is already loved off the bat 'cause it stars River... :two_hearts: :D

    alt text
Baby bellies from way back when (2016)
I know it says from 2016, but actually what it portrays happened already back in 12/2013... This is how most of this "everyday" stuff works - takes place long, long before you actually make it, lol! :') Anyways, what's going on here is that this is first piece of two pic thing; way back when AQH mare ISHR Falcon River and Kathleen Dunn were expecting their firstborns and ... pls see next one ;D

    alt text
    Friends for life (2016)
And part two concludes that as; years later AQH mare DR Lets Do This and Jason share a special bond having grown up together. Sweet thing, eh? ^^ Gotta mention that this was pretty much current back in 2016 when it was posted, so all "everyday" stuff is not old from the start after all ;) Also this pic still holds the spot of favorite DWH pic to date. :two_hearts:

    alt text
    Shealyn’s Western Round-Up cutting show (2016)
Well, it's labor of love, Scout is total pro and the pair actually won with the best score of the whole show and all that... So, translate that to something fitting like - just loving it!

    alt text
Christmas Carol Classic reining show (2016)
This is almost same as Scout above, except this is reining not cutting, Jodie didn't win and there was sorta little bittersweet things again, but still in the end the same loving it does work here too. And ain't Jodie a pretty one? :two_hearts:

    alt text
Holy Cow Festival WCH show (2016)
I know I've praised all "new era" entries, but to be honest, this last one is probably the favorite one, if only one can be chosen from them. There's just that something, love how the speed shows and... all just works so well. Not to mention that the pair won with great score! Jazz might be a little grumpy one, but she's a total pro what comes to working. ❤

    alt text

  • I know it's kinda over already, but since I didn't want to post it earlier before other stuff and back then it still was Christmas... ;D

    alt text

    alt text

They are way too cute to not have done this, right? I hope everyone had nice Christmas time! :hugging:

Wrapping up stuff from 2017 - part I

There's probably three parts to this... all related to show stuff end of last year... that may or may not have been finished recently, lol...

    alt text

    alt text
Scott & Vizion at Dublin Grand Prix GP (RP phase)
There was a plan for more RP photos than this, but left it so late (as usual) that only this one happened in the end. Vizion got priority over the others planed due to the +2pts from the RP phase making her International Champion - Decs' 3rd in the club and first Decs bred! It's doubtful anyone even notices (or cares enough to), but yes, this does not look the same as pic posted in RP phase back in December.... It was so last minute thing back then, that left the "finishing up" for later, since just a pic is enough for the pts, haha! So this is the full glory of Scott & Vizion over a GP fence when things were still looking good for them (got 8th place, had fast time, but dropped pole on last fence) ... Needless to say that Scott wasn't very amused when this was pointed out to him while showing the photo; what possibly could be wrong with "So far so good, eh, Scott?" :joy:

While it was fun doing those last lines above, it's back to rather depressing reality of what's the point of updating this blog at all... sigh... I know I've never been popular/famous, but having way over 100 views since last update and not a single comment is just depressing... yeah, I pretty much didn't have a blog for a year 'cause I kinda predicted it'd be little reward for all the fighting with the new forum (when putting stuff out just for myself can happen elsewhere as it did for that year there was no blog), but I guess I was in cheerful Christmas spirits to finally give it a go... now the main thought pretty much is that maybe I was better off without, which is as said rather depressing thought to have... sigh

  • Okay so I just came across this and don't understand the lack of replies! I always loved your entries and I do think you were popular back in the day! :) I even remember some of these entries from the shows!

I'd like to see more, of course!

  • I agree with what Lidija said! ^
I’ve always really liked your horses and your pictures have always been so nice. I love the last picture of Vizion, she’s such a nice horse  I also really like the pictures of your horses with their coolers and ribbons. And lastly Notarius Decs looks so similar to one of my horses haha!

Wrapping up stuff from 2017 - part II

So, back in early December entered into the Equus Conformation Grading Show, but since there was no blog then, posted these only on the show thread (and Tumblr) before this. So who went? Let's see below... ;)

    alt text
    Scott Reid & Imaginaire Decs
Now there's the horse profiles, but before those Irish was "available" just as a rather small intro pic, so here he is now in a big way the first time (minus the profile of course). Someone might recognize his coat looking like something they've seen back in the day - and yes, you have seen it. Irish is indeed sporting the "SweetFx test" from way back, it looked too good not to use it, haha!
This kinda got the most love of all entered, since there was no blur shortcut in this... it's self blurred and all. The fact that I was actually two days early with this instead of the barely one I thought, pretty much lead to making the rest, since with preblur via ReShade there was plenty of time to do so, lol! xD

    alt text
    Scott Reid & Vizion Decs
She's a classy one, ain't she? ^^ Scott might be calling Nate "the one", but everyone can see there's a big soft spot for this mare. He was ready to let Amy (who does most of halter stuff) deal with Irish and such, but then when the talk about Vizion being there too came up... "I'll be there" ... Oh Scott, how unobvious... ;)
Off the record I admit that Scott was there because it was convenient for me... had him and Ann on the bin for "easy use" in shows etc. So, Scott and Ann as handlers it was, lol! :joy:

    alt text
    Ann Williams & Athenais Decs
Athenais is pretty much on the same boat with Irish, first big appearance here (minus the recent profile of course). She's just lovely lady, making friends everywhere she goes - while looking good, haha! ^^ ;)

    alt text
    Ann Williams & Riann Decs
The "youngster" of the bunch, is pretty much the same as Irish & Athenais actually. Maybe even more so, since I don't think Riann was ever even mentioned back in the day (just got a small intro pic). She was just starting her career when things went quiet for a year. Anyways, she's still 6yo here and so still darkish with dapples; she will be quite a bit lighter when shown as 7yo. There's a few pic's planned where she looks like this, so no worries, won't be the last (and only) "dark dapples" Riann you see... ;)
And Riann is actually one of Scott's mounts, but he was already at two after Irish & Vizion, so Ann it was for her.

So who is your favorite?
    alt text

  • Again... Vizion is such a pretty girl haha, she does have such a classy look! I think my favorite is Riann, she's so elegant and her head shape is so pretty ahhhh

  • My fave would be Vizion, I like how she looks and carries herself.
