Heatherwood - Update 7.19
Heatherwood is medium sized equestrian establishment located in Merridale that focuses on training, showing, and breeding warmbloods in various different english disciplines. Heatherwood is owned by Johanna and Cullen Masters; together the two help manage, train, and compete alongside their fabulous team of riders, trainers, and grooms.
The property includes a main barn houses our actively competing horses, a massive indoor arena with additional stalls for younger and newer horses, a covered outdoor arena, 4 full sized pastures, and 8 half sized pastures.
While Heatherwood has always been primarily focused on competing and training, but as our number of successful competing horses continues to grow and expand, Heatherwood has begun breeding our own future generation of competition horses. Our breeding facilities are currently under construction on a different property not located on Merridale.

The first person I would like to introduce in this album is my main sim Johanna Masters. Johanna can be described best as everything I would like to be in a person while having some of my personal characteristics as as well. She's highly competitive, driven, a perfectionist, animal lover, rational, and tends to see things as a black and white. Johanna competes in dressage and is beginning to take up endurance on the side. The photo shoot below features her two main competition horses Buddy Holly (bay) and Early Bird (buckskin). I had intended to use these photos as profile pics but the forum is too small to see them so enjoy them in their full sized glory.
The next two guys to be introduced are Abraxas WM and Buddy Holly HW. Buddy was already featured above in the photo shoot, but I thought I would give him a proper introduction by himself.
Abraxas may be our most famous stud at Heatherwood. He was just recently put up for stud and produced some gorgeous foals that all went to fabulous show homes. Two of his offspring that reside at Heatherwood will be introduced later on. Right now Abraxas is on loan to the lovely Patsy Brennon to continue his show career, so Cullen (his rider) can focus on his younger prospects.
The next boy I would like to introduce is Buddy Holly. He's an Oldenburg stallion competing in dressage. He already as his first title and is approaching is second one fast. Buddy is a gentle guy with a willing personality. He really goes above and beyond for Johanna when it comes to showing and always tries his hardest for her. Most people are surprised when they find out he's a stallion.
Since I'm going through and redoing my horses' profile pictures, I'd figure I would post them in my blog as well as part of my introductions. The next two ladies Are Europa and Charisma. Europa is a very very special horse to me. She was my first homebred and Abraxas's first offspring. Right now she is currently competing at a preliminary level (6) in show jumping. She already has achieved her second title and will be surpassing her parents before too long.
Charisma was a gift we received from Delaney after we saw her downsizing ad. Charisma is fairly young and just starting out her career in dressage. We have high hopes for this lady that she will be successful and later be added to our Oldenburg breeding program.
Early Bird looks wonderful, I'm glad he's settled nicely at your stable
And your other horses are so beautiful, Buddy Holly has such a sweet face and he's such a pretty shade of bay!
Very nice sim and beauty horses!
So many pretty horses My favorites are Abraxas and Europa, Abraxas coat is to die for and Europa looks so elegant I'm looking forward to see more of them and the rest of your horses!
@Callixta-Rosella Thank you! I am glad he has too! He's so handsome and a lovely addition to our team. Buddy is my baby! He's so gentle and willing.
@Alexandra-Yashirina Thank you
@Annie-Emerson Abraxas and Europa are very special to me! It took me so long to make his coat haha and it has been updated many times because I could never get it to look right. Europa is his first born and most successful offspring at the moment. I'm so proud of her!
Since this is the most recent picture I've taken in game I thought I would share it publicly because I'm also a little proud of this filly. She is the last foal (for now) from Abraxas when he was up for stud. Her name is Mariposa HW (Mhysa KA x Abraxas WM) and she is a very promising filly.
@Lidija-Rotherford She's a little less chunky unposed. I just happened to pick one that made her look on the heavier side haha
Where do all these new horses keep coming from?! I really need to learn some self control haha . Anyhow we've acquired two new mares one from Eowyn Vance and the other from Cole Tieman. These two ladies will be starting their training soon and then joining our show team to start competing.
The first lady I would like to introduce is Montrose AT, Eowyn kindly offered her to me after I expressed my interest in her. I mean who could resist this girl's lovely face and bright coat?! She will be joining our show hunting team.
The next filly is Vermillion Star. She's a KWPN filly bred by Cole Tieman. When I saw his sale ad posted for her I almost didn't apply but I kept coming back to her sale photo and ended up giving in. She will be competing in both eventing and show jumping.
i like montrose
Oh my, those are two lovely ladies
She looks pretty in the snow! I'm glad you did apply, she's gone to a good home
I love your coats and horses so much, and those last two mares are just lovely
Thank you guys for your kind words it really means a lot to hear that.
It's been a very busy week at Heatherwood. We've been on the road going back and forth to shows and are quite pleased with some of the results. One horse in particular has really stood out though. At just 4yo and only 2 shows worth of experience, Chiaro di Luna has really already earned 20pts! We have @Lidija-Rotherford to thank for this lovely boy! here's to hoping he continues doing so well.
Here's he shown all tacked up and training with one of our main riders, Alexander Wolfe, whose shown many of our horses and earned them plenty of points!
I love the new tagging system! hahah! I can be easily kept up to date!
Such a lovely horse, it sounds like he has some great talent already!
@Callixta-Rosella Thank you! Yes he is truly a rising star!
It seems that winter is still lingering at Heatherwood, although we are technically in spring now. The mornings are chilly making the ground crunchy and hard. Our staff has to pile on the layers before bracing the brisk morning; the chill seems to carry throughout the day, and even though the sun is shining it still doesn't seem to be enough to keep us warm throughout the day.
Around midday we turned some of our horses out after finishing up the morning routine. I decided to hang around afterwards and grab some shots of our newest mare from @Nikki-Calvaria. Asteria or Aster is a 7 year old Shagya Arabian mare that will be joining our eventing and endurance team once her registration goes through. Below you can see her pictured with Wonder, another mare from Nikki.
love staring at your pretty pics
@Jade-Nguyen Thank you I'm glad you think so!
Not too long ago @Alastair-Schrödinger updated their BIY service stating MSE Lonesome Devil's Brew would only have a few more spots left before being removed from the service. I had considered him for some time, but after hearing this news I jumped to the chance! I had the perfect mare in mind too: Europa WM. My first home-bred filly out of Eponine WM by Abraxas WM. After my first attempt to breed her failed, I thought I would try again with a more reputable stud. The result was an adorable black tobiano (marking by @Tiffany-Tieman ) colt named Empryean. He receives a hefty bonus from both sides of his pedigree in Eventing and Show Jumping and will be competing in both disciplines.
Oh he is so handsome!
